Olympus 35 SP Review

In April, Olympus released their newest creation, the Olympus 35 SP. Coming down from the Summer of Love in '67 and heading straight for Woodstock in August, the little Olympus was groovy, baby; it even had fluorescent painted guide numbers and focus distance so you could read your flash settings under the black light of said psychedelic venues.

The 35SP, with it's meter readout in EV, initially takes a little more thought and attention, and some fiddling with the aperture and shutter values wrapped around the lens to match the EV value the meter is giving (or to modify the value to ones own judgement).

Olympus 35 SP vs Olympus 35 RC Review - Twins - By Matt Parry. The 1980s Hollywood stars Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger are the unlikely match to play twin brothers in the aptly named 1988 film, Twins (stick with me on this one). When compared to the diminutive RC the Olympus 35SP is a beast of a camera! It feels solid in the hands, the focus is smooth and quick with what I think is a short throw of movement on the focus lever. Manual metering takes some fiddling, but does work well once you get used to it.
